Hi and thanks for joining me today. My guest this time is Maia Dylan who released her very first book, Lost Faith - Grey River 1, yesterday.
Let's begin by finding out a little more about this new author...
Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in
beautiful New Zealand. She married her
best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously
take after their father.
Maia’s career has featured a lot of
travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books,
books and more books. Her love of erotic
paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library. She has been an avid reader and lover of
ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years
In January of this year, Maia
submitted her first ever manuscript to Siren Publishing. She wasn’t at all confident that it would be
accepted and in fact she was expecting a nicely worded email with a resounding
no! Much to her surprise less than two
weeks later she had an acceptance and a signed contract in hand. Since then she hasn’t looked back and
currently has three books in her Grey
River series set for publication.
Outside of writing, Maia loves to
eat, so she loves to cook! Her herb
garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow. She’s been a performer for years, and has
even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang
one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without
fear of a speeding ticket.
Although ultimately her dream is to
be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is
quite happy to fit her writing in when she can.
As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love
her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her
dreams no matter what!
As a brand new Author, I couldn't resist asking a few questions, too ...
What inspired you to write your first book?
A: I have always been
an avid reader. I am never without a
book or two to fill my day, especially as I got older and my career took me
around the world giving me plenty of airports and flight time to fill. I would find myself continually thinking,
what if that book ended in a different way?
The next thing you know, on a recent flight and hotel stay, I started
writing Lost Faith!
Q: How much real life do you put into your
comes to my characters, quite a bit! I
have met so many wonderfully strong men and women who have overcome tremendous
odds to live full lives and love hard that I often think of them as a character
comes to life. In terms of the
locations, they are fictional but VERY real to me, and I hope others find them
just as realistic..
Q. What genre do you like to write and why?
A. I love everything
to do with the paranormal! I love the
idea of shape shifters, and people who have extraordinary gifts. I am also a firm believer that love comes in
all shapes and sizes! Ménage romances
are one of my favorite genre’s to read, and I am really enjoying writing
them. I think I am still finding my way
with my writing, but in my world anything is possible, and one of the things I
love about writing is that you are only limited by the scope of your own
imagination… and my imagination is huge!
Q. What are you working on at the moment?
A. Grey River has so
many stories to tell, and I am currently working on telling Rowena’s story in
book four of the series. A few weeks
ago, I had this pushy shape shifter nag me until I wrote his story. His name is Micah and I am really hoping to
announce something with regards to that series soon… his brothers are just as
pushy so I am working on book two in that series as well.
Q. Do you have anything to say to your current
readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
A. If you have read
Lost Faith, thank you so very much! It
blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I
hope you enjoyed it! Did you? Please let me know, I find I suffer from a
slight case of needy-nelly with my writing.
If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between
strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after
can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love
and laughter is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your
And now for the book...
LOST FAITH – GREY RIVER 1
it better to have loved and lost than never loved at all? For Ty and Trent
Jamieson, the Grey River pack Alphas, they would say either would be preferable
knew Faith Abrams was destined to be theirs from the moment they first came
across her scent. Finding out that she was only 19 and studying put their grand
mating plans to the back burner, at least for a couple of years. Problems only
arose when she suddenly left them when they had finally decided to come clean
about their feelings that they had kept hidden and claim her. They lost Faith and when Mother Nature steps
in dramatically to give them an opportunity to get her back, things become very
clear that perhaps her leaving was not all as it seemed.
the brothers bring their fated triad together and protect their mate as it
should have always been? Or are they destined to lose Faith forever?
“Well, I guess we start Operation Mate Claim when
Faith gets up from her nap for dinner, huh?” Trent went back to finishing their
dinner of steaks, baked potatoes, and a green salad. Ty chuckled as they both
heard the door to the mistress suite open slowly and hesitant steps come out
into the corridor.
“I guess our mate is hungry,” Ty stated as he went
to meet Faith and bring her into the kitchen for dinner.
Trent felt his heart sped up. He was nervous, for
fuck’s sake! This was like their first real date! This was the first time the
three of them would be together when he and his brother were on the same page
and trying to get Faith to accept them as life partners. The importance of this
was not lost on him, or his wolf, who for the first time since Faith arrived on
their doorstep that afternoon had stopped prowling in his mind.
The scent of his mate suddenly filled the kitchen,
and Trent closed his eyes to draw her scent into his lungs. My God. She smelled delicious, and he
couldn’t wait to take a great big ol’ bite out of her. Just the thought of
getting his mouth on her body caused major blood loss to his brain as his dick
suddenly filled. Shit, if this continued, he was going to have a zipper imprint
on his dick for life!
“You and me both, Brother.” Ty’s strained voice
came to him down their link. Well, misery liked company, so at least he wasn’t
Trent turned to smile at Faith as Ty got her
settled at the kitchen counter. She was dressed for comfort in a large cotton
button-down shirt and leggings. They had decided to keep this meal casual, as
the conversation afterward would be anything but. Within minutes the three of
them were settled at the counter with plates piled high with food before them.
“Wow, this looks fantastic, guys! Thanks.” Faith
cut into her steak. It was cooked to her liking, well-done, which was sacrilege
as far as he was concerned. Faith must have noticed the frown he and Ty wore,
and she laughed, sending tingles over his skin at the sound. “Yeah, I know,
it’s sacrilege to have a steak well-done, blah blah blah. But your steaks look
like a good veterinarian would have them up and running in ten minutes!”
Ty and Trent threw their heads back and laughed.
They loved their mate’s sense of humor. She had always been able to make them
laugh. After that, the atmosphere definitely relaxed, and it wasn’t until then
that Trent realized just how tense it had been up until that point. The
conversation throughout dinner was simple and light, shared memories from two
years ago playing a major role in the evening.
As the meal drew to a close, the brothers ushered
Faith to a chair at the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee while they took
care of cleaning up. When they were all seated around the counter, the
conversation stopped altogether. Trent felt the tension rise as he realized
that all three of them must have come to the same conclusion.
There were a lot of things that needed to be said.
Trent thought about that old saying that there was an elephant in the room, and
smiled when he changed the analogy to a herd of elephants in this room. So many
things that needed to be talked about, apologies that needed to be made and
accepted, and then trying to explain about being shifters without Faith running
screaming from the house. OK, so he had effectively outlined an agenda, and now
it was time to lay all their cards on the table. Taking a deep breath to calm
his nerves, he glanced quickly at his brother and saw they were on the same
page. Then he turned to face their mate. The time was now.
“Oh God!” Faith groaned, or rather tried to, but it was difficult to
understand given the fact that Trent had his tongue down her throat. Wanting to
be an active participant in what was proving to be an explosive first
introduction to ménage sex, Faith sucked firmly on his tongue and plunged her
hands into his hair. Her ears were ringing as her body flew toward a precipice
she knew that once she flew off, she would never be the same again.
Ty suddenly plunged a finger into her cunt and rubbed an unknown
place within her that sparked such pleasure she tore her mouth from Trent’s
with a scream, and her body began to tremble violently.
“Fuck yeah, baby, Ty’s found it, hasn’t he?” Trent growled against
her neck as he continued to fondle and pinch her nipples, heightening her
pleasure. “Ty’s totally hit your sweet spot.”
“You have no idea just how sweet she fucking is, Brother,” Ty
growled against her pussy as he added another finger and continued to rub her
in just the right spot, the trembling increasing to the point Faith was sure
she looked like she was having a seizure. Her body felt like it was hurtling toward
something big. Faith needed something to help her, but she just didn’t know
“Ty, please!” she sobbed, desperate. “Please!”
“Anything, Faith, for you, anything,” Ty rasped before he swirled
his tongue around her clit, then sucked it into his mouth, gently biting the
swollen nub. Faith threw her head back and screamed as an orgasm the likes of
which she had never felt before overtook her.
“Oh fuck yeah, baby, do it, come for us,” Trent groaned and growled
against her neck. It seemed to crest again as Ty continued to plunge his
fingers into her sopping pussy and sucked harder on her clit.
All too soon, the tremors slowly began to ebb, and the world began
to fall back into place. Faith could hear not only her own harsh breathing but
the constant growls of the man still steadily licking her and lying between her
spread legs. She could also feel Trent’s hot, harsh breath against her neck.
Suddenly Trent moved away from her, and Ty’s form loomed up and over
the top of her. His mouth glistened with the juices from her own body, but what
caused her to almost stop breathing was the look in his eyes. As if he were on
the edge of complete insanity, an insanity she had caused with her response to
Of their own accord, her legs wrapped around him as he settled in
the cradle of her hips, the hard, blunt head of his weeping cock pressed
against the swollen folds of her pussy. He held himself above her on arms that
rippled with muscle and restraint.
“Faith, I have to take you.” Ty’s voice was slightly garbled, and
Faith knew that his wolf, stronger than most due to his alpha status, was
fighting for control.
Faith would have dearly loved to believe that the reason for that
was because of the mating heat and Quickening, driving him to complete their
mating with her by biting into her shoulder, marking her as his for all time
and for all to see. But she knew that wasn’t the case. If they had experienced
the Quickening, it would have been years ago when they first met at the diner.
As she understood it, the Quickening was so powerful that wolves could barely
control their reaction to their mates, and they certainly couldn’t hold back
No, this was not the Quickening. It was simply affection and intense
desire that drove Ty’s wolf forward.
“Then do it, Ty,” she whispered as she lifted her arms to wrap
around his shoulders and urge him to her, gently rolling her hips in
invitation. “Take me.”
The words had no sooner left her mouth than Ty thrust home, filling
her with his cock. Both of them threw their heads back and groaned at the
“Fuck, Faith, you feel fantastic.”
Faith gripped Ty’s shoulders and held on as he started to move
within her, slowly at first and then with more strength and power. He fell
against her, kissing her with a passion that left her breathless. She could
taste her own salty musk on his lips, but that simply added to her pleasure.
Oddly, the thought of tasting him and his brother flew into her mind. God, she
would love the opportunity to take them into her mouth and learn them with her
tongue. She wouldn’t stop until she had taken every drop they had to offer.
“Hell yeah, you would, Faith. You would take every damn drop,
sweets,” Ty growled against her lips.
Faith started to wonder how Ty knew what she was thinking, but then
he added a twist with his hips when he slammed home, which ground his body
against her rapidly swelling clit, causing all thought to evaporate.
